Beginning every February and continuing through the year, Junior Achievement of Greater Miami hosts a series of “Groundhog Job Shadow” opportunities for our students...and we hope you'll agree to be a Job Shadow Host!

Job shadowing is a yearlong national effort to enrich the lives of students by acquainting them with the world of work through on-the-job experiences and a carefully crafted school curriculum that ties academics to the workplace.

Things get off to a rousing start on February 2nd (Groundhog’s Day!) as local students begin shadowing some of South Florida’s best-known businesspersons. We hope you'll agree to being one of them.   However, your Job Shadow Day can happen anytime it is convenient for you.

Here’s how you can help:

Agree to allow up-to-25 students to visit your place of work. The students, split into groups of 5, can then move from department to department in 30 minute cycles, learning the duties and functions of each. Students would arrive at about 9:00AM and leave by 1:00PM.

We know the students will learn immensely from you and you'll have a memorable time hosting them. Call or email JA if you need additional information or if you have questions.

Here are the Job Shadow Hosts currently available.  If your school is interested in participating with one, please email Scott Galvin at sgalvin@jamiami.org.
